Notifications
Learn how to set up and manage your notification preferences, defining which events prompt notifications and which users should receive them. Notifications are used for notifying users of token activity in Vault, so if you do not have Vault set up for token management, or if you would like to learn more, please visit our Vault documentation.
Notifications page
Navigate to your Pangea User Console and click Preferences in the left-hand menu. You will be taken to the Preferences >> Notifications page, where you can:
- Enable/disable notifications for Vault entirely by using the toggle to the right of "Vault"
- Turn notifications on or off for Pangea events (e.g., token expiration, rotation, etc.) by selecting the checkbox next to it
- Set preference for notification frequency/time before event by selecting "+", then selecting up to two notification times for each event (e.g., 4 weeks before and 1 day before). You can edit existing ones by clicking on them, or remove it by selecting the "X"
Watchlist
You have the option to add other users to your Watchlist, ensuring they are notified about specific events or updates. You can set up notifications for specific vault items to keep track of changes, expiration, or other important events. In addition to watching individual files, users can be set as watchers for entire folders to track events for all items nested underneath them.
In the Preferences >> Watchlist section, you can see a list of items you are watching. From this screen you can click on the three-dot icon to the right of each item to:
- View item - This takes you to the item's settings in your Vault page, where you can edit its settings or add watchers
- Stop watching item
Vault
To add or remove watchers to or change other settings for a Vault item, you can do so from the Vault page in your Pangea User Console. Navigate to the Vault page by clicking Vault on the left-hand menu, then select any vault item such as a folder or token to expand its details in a right-hand menu.
You can use the:
- Watch item button (alarm clock icon) at the top right of the item details to watch the item.
- Once selected, the alarm clock icon will become blue and the number of watchers will increase. The item will now appear in your Preferences >> Watchlist page.
- Watchlist button (number to the right of the alarm clock) to open a menu for adding or removing the item's watchlist users (shown below).
Notification method
Pangea notifications are distributed to watchers via email, as shown in the samples below. These automated reminders provide notified users with the specific details of token events and dates to prevent token-related issues.
