Not all content or activity on the web is as innocent as this rubber ducky. Let’s take for example a social gaming platform for kids. You want to allow them to chat and engage with other users while enjoying the game but you need to also consider protecting them from potential bad actors on the platform. That means detecting forms of personally identifiable information(PII) such as name, address, or phone number. The Redact API in Pangea allows you to mask that PII in user-generated content to prevent that type of information sharing. Safety is the key issue here, but this could also be applied in scenarios where you are connecting gig workers on your platform to potential jobs. To broker the arrangement and get paid for the placement fees you may need to prevent contact sharing until both parties have accepted terms and conditions.

That same API in that same scenario can be used to mask foul language. Imagine using this for comments you might have on your site for users chatting in a forum, or reviewing a product. You want to keep the conversation pleasantly social. Redact that!

Try it you might like it I say! Check Redact out easily in our live docs. We’ve created this introduction video to help get you started.
