The winners of the Pangea Securathon hackathon have been announced after a two-month competition with nearly 350 participants and 30 qualified submissions. Participants competed by creating new applications using Pangea's APIs. The first-place winner, ZeroPay, impressed the judging panel by showcasing a Pangea-built application for financial services. ZeroPay is a digital payment platform that allows users to make payments, send money, and perform various financial transactions using their smartphones or other compatible devices. ZeroPay securely stores the user’s PIN via Pangea’s Vault Service, enabling users to make purchases online, in physical stores, and transfer money to other individuals.
Besides solving a vital problem in the financial services space, ZeroPay used the broadest set of Pangea services - a total of six!
AuthN - used for user registration and authentication
Redact - used for masking credit card numbers
Vault - used for secret and cryptographic key storage
Secure Audit Log - used for logging of user activities
IP Intel - used for identifying infected devices or malicious users
User Intel - used for checking for breached user accounts
We had so many additional submissions; you can view them in our Pangea Community Projects playlist on YouTube. You can also read more about our winners from our CEO Oliver and hackathon judge here.
Product Updates
Secure Audit Log Custom Schema - We’ve added the ability to create a custom schema for the Secure Audit Log service. These new features allow users to customize audit logs to their specific use cases by adding and removing fields, adding descriptions, and changing the field data type. Watch the video walkthrough.
Redact with Hashing - Introducing Redact API's latest feature: Generate a hash from your redacted text with a unique salt for secure pattern recognition in redacted strings. The salt is stored securely in our Vault service. This removes the possibility of any data leaks in PII during a data breach. Put simply, employing hashing for redaction safeguards sensitive user data and maintains the flexibility of conducting seamless queries within applications.
Secure Audit Log Multi Config Support - Secure Audit Log just got an upgrade! Now, you can manage multiple configurations within the same Pangea project. When you run multiple configurations of Secure Audit Log, remember to specify a config ID in the input parameters of any Secure Audit Log API call (SDKs, REST APIs, or documentation). No need for the config ID if you have only one config.
SDK v2 - Our SDKs have been updated to v2. These API changes were necessary to support the Custom Schemas feature in the Secure Audit Log, along with other minor changes that can all be viewed in the change logs.
Change Log - To keep up with all of the changes and updates on the platform, visit our change log.
