Secure Share

Secure Share Beta Available

The Secure Share API allows you to add powerful and secure file sharing and management to your application with minimal code, and no infrastructure management.

Secure Share uses Vault-managed keys (Pangea or developer-supplied) to encrypt all objects on top of the default encryption of the underlying cloud storage. Individual files can be encrypted with a password that is never stored and is required for decryption when accessed.

Developers can use Secure Share to organize documents and files into folders and to create email, SMS OTP, or password-authenticated upload and download share-links for sending and receiving files. Share-links are always authenticated (email, SMS, or password), so there is no risk of unauthenticated share-links.

Secure Share can optionally restrict the types and sizes of files that will be accepted. Secure Share is integrated with File Scan to prevent anything detected as malware from being stored.

File Scan

Availability on GCP

The File Scan service is now generally available on organizations provisioned on GCP. This service allows a user to upload file objects and execute a malware scan using either Crowdstrike or ReversingLabs as the provider. File scanning is different from File Intel in that scanning uses static analysis engines against the file object to determine the intent and capabilities of that file object, whereas File Intel can only tell you the reputation of a previously known file. Scan time varies depending on the object size and complexity, however this is a more comprehensive and sophisticated method of uncovering malware.
