About Redact service
The Pangea Redact service helps developers limit the sprawl of sensitive information by performing redaction using defined rules. Redact comes equipped with out-of-the-box rules to identify personally identifiable information (PII), payment card industry (PCI) data and other sensitive information. By limiting sensitive user data, Redact assists companies in complying with privacy laws such as GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, CPA, and others. In addition, Redact integrates natively with other Pangea services, such as Secure Audit Log and Sanitize, in order to redact any sensitive inbound data."
Benefits of using Redact service
Many privacy laws (e.g., GDPR) require companies to minimize the retention of sensitive information. Essentially, these laws require that sensitive personal data only be retained for as long as necessary and never be retained without having a reasonable need to do so. The Redact service can be used to cleanse data of unnecessary sensitive information prior to storage, reducing the risk of accidentally introducing sensitive content where it is not required.
